Door Hardware, Door Knobs,
Hinges & More
Home security is an important issue, and high
quality door locks, deadbolts, are some of the
many types of door hardware to choose from.
·
Exterior Door Sets
Designed to withstand the rigors of the
weather and yet look good. Do you wish your
front door to look gothic or perhaps ultra
modern?·

Interior Door Hardware
Is less hardy than exterior hardware but they
are designed to go with interior décor * Door
Pulls Are for closet and cupboard doors and
can be made from wood, plastic, glass or
metal.·

Sliding Door Hardware
Is mainly tracks and wheels. Whenever
possible, I suggest that you opt for the
overhead track and wheels as apposed to the
bottom style. The top mounted wheel systems
just seem to work better for longer.·

Screen & Storm Door Hardware Storm door
locks, screen door latches and locksets are
the perfect thing to add security and beauty to
your entry door. Mainly these are there to
secure the door against wind action but they
do also create an added barrier for potential
intruders or thieves. They are usually very
simple or some would say, plain in design.

Push Plates
There are a many varieties of door kick plates,
push and pull plates for commercial,
residential for both wood and metal doors in
numerous finishes and designs. These are
great on larger doors but may look at little
tacky on smaller ones. ·

Security Fasteners
Specialty screws and bolts are the most
common types. It can be argued that it is now
almost a waste of money and time to use
these specialty screws. The tools for undoing
them are available from almost every home
improvement store. This means that any
serious intruder probably has the device to
remove your security screws or bolts.

Hinges
Hinges come in many styles and designs.
Most residential hinges are made of steel,
although mortise hinges for outswing doors
are often made of brass or stainless steel
base to prevent corrosion.

Electronic Lock Sets
A swipe card, a remote control, a coded
keypad or even your iris identification can
activate these. It all depends on how much
money you are willing to spend.
